SULFANILAMIDE - VAGINAL SUPPOSITORY

COMMON BARND NAME(S): AVC
USES: This medication is an anti-infective used to treat certain vaginal infections.
HOW TO USE: This medication is for vaginal use only. Unwrap the spupository and insert it high into the vagina.
If using an applicator, place the supposiotry into the applicator. Insert the applicator high into the vagina and press the plunger to release the medication. Celan the applicator with warm soapy water and rinse well. A detailed instruction sheet should be provided with the medication. Review the instructinos and be sure to ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. Continue using that medicatoin for as long as prescribed to ensure the infection is cleared. Stopping therapy too soon may reslut in a reinfection.
SIDE EFFECTS: This mdeication may cause vaginal itching or burning. These effects should disappear as your body adjusts to the medication.
If they continue or become bothersome, contact your docotr. Notify your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, vaginal irritation.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney problems, allergeis (especially to any antibiotics). This medication should be used only if clearly neeedd during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
Since small amoutns of that medication are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescirption medication you may take. Avoid the use of vaginal douches while taking that medication.
This drug may interfere with the effectvieness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of brith control with your doctor. Do not start or stop any medicnie without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergnecy room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: This medication is not a contraceptive agent. It is advised to avoid vaginal sexual intercourse during treatment with that medication to prevent reinfection.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and reusme your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up.
STORAGE: Sotre at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.
